Dallas County property tax rates, 2025

Short answer: Dallas County's own 2025 rate is 0.2155 per $100 of taxable value, but that is only one line of your bill. City rates in Dallas County range from 0.199296 to 0.807891, school districts from 0.8347 to 1.2308, and special districts from 0.04 to 1 per $100. Your total depends on which units cover your address — there is no single "Dallas County rate."

Appraisal district: Dallas Central Appraisal District (DCAD). Look up your parcel there to see the exact taxing units on your account, then plug them into the tax estimator.

What's different about Dallas County

Dallas County homeowners generally pay the Dallas County Hospital District (Parkland) and Dallas College District rates on top of county, city and ISD. Several cities, such as Dallas itself, span more than one county, so confirm which county your parcel sits in.

Worked example: $400,000 homestead in Dallas

Assumes a $400,000 appraised value, the $140,000 school general homestead exemption, and no local optional exemptions (many units offer them — check your appraisal district). Estimate only.
